BIO

Welcome.

My name is Camillia, I am a registered psychologist and the Director of Camillia Rose Psychology Practice. I have completed a Bachelor in Psychology with Honours at Griffith University and a Master in Educational Psychology at the University of Melbourne.

With over 15 years working in the psychology field, I hold experience in various educational and clinical settings; including community, universities, hospitals, schools, governmental, and private sectors. I have worked with people across the lifespan (ranging from 4 to 85 years old) and whom vary in human diversity.

I have travelled internationally to assist vulnerable children and communities in countries such as Nepal (pre and post earthquake disaster), India and Tanzania.

I have received an Endeavour Executive Fellowship from the Australian Government, which is a prestigious programme to support high-achieving Australians to undertake professional development overseas. Additionally, I have received the Melbourne Global Scholars Award and the Melbourne Education Research Institute Student Research Publication Award, from the University of Melbourne.

I have been awarded GHP Most Empowering Women & Children Psychologist in 2023 (Australia). I was also nominated for category - Professionals and Angles Among Us, in 2024 Gold Coast Bulletin Women of the Year Awards (presented by Harvey Norman). Additionally, I have been awarded an Australian Enterprise Award (via Corporate Vision) for the Most Empowering Women & Children's Mental Wellbeing Expert in 2025.

I am also passionate about given back to the psychology industry and I regularly supervise and mentor other psychologists and psychology students.  I have volunteered in the Griffith Industry Mentoring Program (Griffith University) for 3 years and received a Mentoring Excellence Nominee for outstanding mentorship as nominated by a mentee.

I adopt a wholistic approach whilst addressing environmental (internal and external) factors that may be a barrier for potential growth and healing. Additionally, I provide my clients the psycho-educational knowledge to create empowered and well informed choices to assist in behaviour change. I understand that it is a privilege to be alongside people during times of vulnerability and challenging personal circumstances. I feel incredibly honoured in supporting my clients and hope to work collectively in achieving their personal goals.

Why I started the practice

From one woman to another

Through my own experience of pregnancy and motherhood, I felt a high need to further empower and support women during such a significant transition into womanhood. I felt there was a lot of practical preparation for mothers with their physical environments and bodies although there was a lack of psychological preparation for motherhood and what that entailed.

From my own journey, I recognise that becoming a mother, is like learning a new dance for the first time. For some, it is natural and their bodies naturally act and respond; while for others, it takes time, practice and support in getting the moves right. Although for everyone, each has their own style of dance and we all become better over time. Although during those moments when we don’t quite get it right, it’s ok to cry, laugh, or pause. We are human. We are women.

I hope to help normalise and support the mental health needs of mothers, so they are able to thrive in motherhood amongst their families, workplace and community.

From establishing the Practice in 2020, It is my hope that all women understand that they are never alone in their journey and that there is support available where they can be their authentic self.

Together, I hope to...Empower. Inspire. Create.
